How to Sponsor a folio
Palace Green Library and Exhibition Area Development

You can help us to develop Palace Green Library by ‘buying’ virtual books and filling these shelves with them.

There are different colours of book, each dedicated to a different Palace Green Library treasure, which represent different amounts of your gift. For example, one red book costs £10 and a blue one costs £25. If your gift, therefore, is for £100 (which will entitle you to have your name permanently recorded on the wall of the Dunelm Gallery in the ‘real’ library), you could choose to buy 10 red books, four blue books, two pastel books (or any combination of these) or one gold book. Each book will be individually named with your details and, as the appeal continues, you will be able to search for your books and indeed, search for those books fellow-alumni, friends or family may have bought. To do this:

• Click on the ‘Sponsor a Folio’ button. This will lead you to a screen where the different types of books and how much they are is shown.
• Decide which books you want to buy, and how many. You can mix and match books in any combination.
• Click on ‘Next Step’. This will take you to a screen which records the information to be attached to your book and which will appear when you click on it in the bookshelves. It also records other relevant information which we may need for our donor records. If you wish to buy these books anonymously, you can also choose to do this on this page.
• Click on ‘Next Step’. This will take you to the payment page where you can type in your details. The site accepts MasterCard, Visa, Diners' Club and Maestro/Switch/Solo. If you'd like to pay by any other method (including American Express), please contact our office on 0191 334 6297. Please note that this site is entirely secure: your payment is securely processed by IATS Ticketmaster. Credit card details will not be shared with third parties and card numbers will not be stored on our system.
• Click on ‘Sponsor Now’. You will receive an acknowledgement of your gift on-screen and the book(s) you have bought will then appear on the shelves; you can search for all the folios you have bought by using the ‘Find your Folio’ button. You will also receive an e-mail almost immediately confirming your gift.

Recognition for contributors

If over the life of the appeal (until 31 July 2011) your gifts, through this website or any other means, total £100 or more, your name or nominated name, will be recorded forever on the wall of the Dunelm Gallery in Palace Green Library, and we will send you a letter to confirm this. We anticipate that the recording of the names will be actually physically executed in Autumn 2011.

Direction of gifts

The funds raised will be spent primarily on developing the Dunelm Gallery, where donor names will be recorded. We will also use funds to expand our conservation space (also to be used for educational purposes) and to conserve Bishop Cosin's Library itself.
